Merry Maidens Mild wins bronze at GBBF

Coastal Brewery’s Merry Maidens Mild won a bronze award in the Campaign for Real Ale’s Champion Beer of Britain 2011 contest. It was pipped to the post by former Champion Beer of Britain Rudgate Ruby Mild and Mighty Oak Brewery’s Oscar Wilde Mild, which went on to be crowned champion beer of 2011.

“When you get into the final of a national competition it is an achievement in itself, but to win a medal is fantastic,” said Coastal Brewery owner and brewer, Alan Hinde.

The beer has been an award winner on other occasions, taking prizes at the South Devon CAMRA and Macclesfield festivals.

The classic dark mild is smooth with an impressive full roast flavour that belies its sessionable ABV.
